After 38 years of service, Tom retired in 1992 as a Chief Master Sergeant and the Aviation Maintenance Supervisor with the 185th Fighter Group.  Tom provided the design for the 185th Insignia.  After a very successful career in the 185th TFG, Tom served his community with 11 years on the Sergeant Bluff Fire Department and 23 years on the City Council, 6 of those years as Mayor.
